January is the perfect time for a fresh start! For me this means trying to alkalinize my body by having a fresh pressed juice everyday.
Fresh pressed, unpasteurized juices are extremely alkalinizing and great for detoxification. They are loaded with vitamins and minerals, and don’t have any added sugar like many of the other juices on the market.
Too much acidity in the body leads to inflammation and the development of disease.
The easiest way to combat acidity is to increase vegetable content, especially green ones, and decrease meat consumption. The more fresh, raw ingredients you eat (fruits and vegetables) the more alkaline your body becomes.
An extremely easy way to achieve this is making sure at least 50% of your lunch and dinner is comprised of vegetables and at least one green vegetable. Also incorporate a fresh pressed, unpasteurized juice as part of your breakfast or snack. These simple changes will have you feeling refreshed in no time!
Green Monster Juice:
1 1/2 inch piece of ginger
1 green apple
1/3 English cucumber
2 large handfuls of greens (spinach, kale, chard)
1/4 fennel bulb
Run each ingredient through a juicer and enjoy!
